Kyle & Jamie

Kyle & Jamie’s wedding reception last night was absolute MAGIC last night. There’s a moment at every wedding reception where I begin to sense it – in this case, their Wedding Party Introduction sequence which set the tone for the rest of the night – and then there’s the moment where I first feel it. For me, it happened during their First Dance to Ed Sheeran’s “Tenerife Sea”, where the entire room sat still, just watching Kyle & Jamie gracefully glide on the dance floor.

So in love, so in love.

I couldn’t help but mouth those lyrics as I watched on from my DJ booth. At that moment, I knew it – despite the July heat that just wouldn’t go away – we were about to have an epic dance floor experience. Which is precisely what Kyle & Jamie desired.

Joe & Audrey

There are some weddings so awesome, so amazing that they leave me with an absolute loss for words when they have came to their conclusion.

And as I sit here and try to come up with the words to describe this wedding, I’m exactly that: at a loss for words. From start to finish, it couldn’t have been any more perfect. (And speaking of finishes, it was absolutely nailed by my team! My lighting designer, Christian, did magic with our four moving head setup; and my video guru, Matt, was in the perfect position to capture the final hurrah for Audrey & Joe. Watch it in the highlight video above; I’ve replayed it more times than I can count – it’s that good.)

Aaron & Kelly

Unique musical selections: that would be the number one thing I loved about Aaron & Kelly’s wedding ceremony and reception at Historic 1625 Place in Tacoma. Not one song on their list of ceremony and reception selections below would be found on a suggestions list for any of the given moments. Yet, they all worked perfectly for the moment they were selected for.

My favorite selection, is without a doubt, their First Dance to Chris Stapleton’s “More of You”, which features the perfectly written chorus lyrics:

Spencer & Christie

Without a doubt, Spencer & Christie’s wedding reception at Union Station in Tacoma, Washington, was the LARGEST reception I’ve ever been a part of! Nearly 400 guests came to celebrate these two getting hitched – just an awesome community these two have surrounded themselves with! – and to see it all come together after months of planning and preparation was beyond worth it. I seriously couldn’t be happier for Spencer & Christie; they had the celebration of a lifetime.

And I’ll never forget this night: hands down, it was the best reception I’ve ever performed at.

Dorwin & Swathy

Dorwin & Swathy couldn’t have timed it better: their Sunday afternoon wedding ceremony just happened to coincide with the first full day of sunshine in Seattle since October 2016. And the welcomed sunshine was a sign of things to come, as Dorwin & Swathy – along with their closest of friends – absolutely rocked the dance floor inside the Marina Ballroom at the Bell Harbor Conference Center in Seattle.

Seriously, check out the video above; my favorite part is around the 3:04 mark. (And I won’t spoil anything, but that clip is definitely going to make the 2017 wrap-up video.)

Tina & Michael | Tony Schwartz: Wedding MC & DJ

Christina & Michael

I’ve had a long-standing belief that the first wedding of the new year sets the tone for the rest of the year. If that’s the case, I couldn’t be more ecstatic to get going on this year’s wedding season, as Christina & Michael’s wedding reception was as good as it gets.

While the outcome of the Seahawks-Falcons playoff game earlier in the day was less than desirable, any disappointment was left at the front door as guests and vendors entered Melrose Market Studios, excited to celebrate Tina & Michael. And from the romantic, intimate ceremony to the group sing-a-long to Neil Diamond’s “Sweet Caroline” and Sparkler Send Off, everyone did just that.

Amanda & Stephen

Question: What do you do when “The Storm of the Century” threatens your wedding day?

Answer: Exactly what Amanda & Stephen did: ensure the proper precautions for worst case scenarios are accounted for, put on your wedding attire, smile big, get married, enjoy the company of your family and friends, and celebrate until the night is over!

Jasmine & Delas | Tony Schwartz: Wedding MC & DJ

Jasmine & Delas

From time to time, I get a strong inclination just from the initial consultation meeting that with the right approach, certain wedding receptions have the potential of becoming awesome, unforgettable evenings. And just from my first phone conversation with Jasmine, I knew that if her and Delas selected me as their Master of Ceremonies and DJ, their wedding reception would definitely be one of those nights.

And I’m not going to lie: I may have slightly underestimated my inclination. Jasmine & Delas’ wedding reception wasn’t just an awesome party; it’s a strong candidate for Reception of the Year. And possibly even Reception of the Decade.

Jaclyn & Mark | Tony Schwartz: Wedding MC & DJ

Jaclyn & Mark

It was a spectacularly sunny September Sunday; Jaclyn & Mark couldn’t have asked for better weather at the beautiful Laurel Creek Manor in Sumner, Washington. And I doubt they could have asked for a better celebration amongst their family and friends.

As you look at the photos captured below by the wonderfully talented Melissa Kilner, you see two best friends that are madly in love with each other. Jaclyn and Mark both have infectious smiles, and I don’t think they stopped smiling the entire night. And neither did the dancing, as guests started to find their way to the dance floor during dinner.

Greg & Janet

They met in Chelan on respective bachelor and bachelorette parties. A few months later, they were engaged; and on November 5th, an email from Janet arrived in my email inbox with the tentative wedding details. I couldn’t have been more happier or excited to make the trip all the way to Harmony Meadows, mere minutes from where Greg & Janet first met to DJ their wedding reception.

And what a truly magical, special night it was; there is no way I’ll ever forget it.
