WEDDING MUSIC GUIDE
The best 2000s music for weddings is without a doubt Hip-Hop/Rap and R&B music. The two genres alone literally dominated the decade; with Pop, Modern Rock, and Country also enjoying prominence as popular genres of the 2000s.
So, how did Hip-Hop & R&B explode in popularity? Some would argue that the ability for people to share and download music quickly and easily via free file transfer sites such as Napster and Kazaa led to its rapid growth. While the government stepped in and stopped this highly illegal activity, it led to the birth of iTunes and the ability to purchase songs on an individual basis, rather than the entire album. Add the invention of the iPod, among other MP3 device options, and suddenly, one tiny device could hold thousands of our favorite songs.
The best 2000s songs for weddings are listed below; and a great dance floor filling set of the best 2000s songs for a wedding would include a mix of Pink, Lady Gaga, Carrie Underwood, 50 Cent, Jay-Z, The Black Eyed Peas, and Eminem, among others. As always, a Spotify playlist is included at the end for your listening enjoyment!
