Question: What do you do when “The Storm of the Century” threatens your wedding day?

Answer: Exactly what Amanda & Stephen did: ensure the proper precautions for the worst-case scenarios are accounted for, put on your wedding attire, smile big, get married, enjoy the company of your family and friends, and celebrate until the night is over!

All week long, the buildup to Amanda & Stephen’s wedding reception was fear of the possible consequences of the worst storm the Puget Sound region had seen in recent memory. Despite planning for a power outage or worse – something I’ve had experience with before – the big storm turned out to be nothing but a few gusts of wind. And despite the threat, my mission remained the same: to perform my very best and make sure that Amanda & Stephen had the wedding reception they had long dreamed of.

Family was a big priority for Stephen & Amanda, and I knew that including some awesome interactions would be a key component of bringing both sides of family and friends together as one big giant family. Three of my favorite interactions to perform were included:

Also, Stephen’s father, Ron, provided me with a great collection of photos of Amanda, Stephen, and the most important people in their lives – their family and friends – and I produced a spectacular montage for them, displayed on dual 55″ LED TVs throughout the night. Throughout the evening, I witnessed several instances of guests laughing and telling stories about the photos as they flashed on the screen. Photo montages are an underrated icebreaker and I hope more couples opt to utilize this presentation idea at their wedding reception.

Oh, and yes, despite the threat of the storm causing exits earlier than anticipated, we did have a great open dancing session. Albeit shorter than hoped for, I do believe everyone took at least one spin on the dance floor. People want to celebrate – sometimes it just takes a little more work to get them there. As a DJ, I know that promoting an upbeat, energetic atmosphere will trump any extreme weather condition – hot or cold.

Amanda & Stephen’s Five-Star Review

Tony was absolutely, without a doubt spectacular! Out of all of our vendors we had to choose from, my very favorite decision that we made by far was DJ Tony! From beginning to end and even afterwards, he was so awesome! I’m glad he was so personable and his communication was top-notch! He put our wedding day stresses at ease and kept the entertainment at our wedding going the whole night through! I love that Tony isn’t just like any other kind of DJ you would book like ones that have multiple DJs and they just assign you whatever one is available and maybe not even get to actually meet them till the day of your wedding, with Tony you actually build a relationship and friendship with him and get to meet with him more than once to make sure everything flows correctly and everyone is on the same page. Even when our wedding started to die out because of threats of the storm scaring people, Tony kept the music the whole Nighy through and I applaud him for that! Even with the fun newlyWed game we played and date night cards he helped put together for us! He was so great! He’s more than just a DJ, he keeps your wedding fun and exciting! I only have good things to say about him and Stephen and I are so grateful that we had him a part of our big day and are so glad we chose him for our DJ! I would highly recommend him to anyone who’s not just looking for just any “DJ” but someone personable, fun, and exciting, he goes above and beyond for you and he was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding!
